Integrity, Justice and Fair play are the qualities which are required to be inculcated in civil servants as it is through these qualities that we can protect and safeguard the interest of the state.

Minister of State for interior and Education, Baligh ur Rehman said this while addressing the 16th graduation ceremony of Mid Career Management Course. The Minister said that as a nation we have opportunities and constraints and we must also keep in mind the realities to make our way forward. Why we have not been able to achieve economic progress, this is the question that we should ask ourselves. Despite extensive training the perception of declining public service delivery is increasing, the Minister said. We have to think how best the things can be done in the future? We need to redefine our priorities and will have to learn from our mistakes, he said.

The Minister said low literacy rate, economic deprivation, extremism and other factos have combined to make things increasingly difficult. At this point in time there is immense need to give the people of Pakistan a ray of hope.

Addressing the officers he stressed that they must keep in mind the condition of deprived people. He further said that they must thank the country which has given them the opportunity to serve.

The Minister said famous international organizations having purpose and vision to serve the people perform better and grow better than those who had no such vision. The Minister asked the officers that their attitude and contribution will make the image of Pakistan abroad. The Government of PML (N) under the leadership of PM Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is committed to promote honesty, justice, fair play and professional excellence to ensure development, the Minister added.
